4. Key Features and Facilities of Vivali Park Ski Resort
- Ski Slopes: Vivaldi Park Ski World offers a total of 12 slopes, each with varying levels of difficulty and length. Whether you're a beginner looking for gentle slopes or an expert seeking steep challenges, there are plenty of options to choose from.
Detailed Description of Vivaldi Park Ski World Slopes
Vivaldi Park Ski Resort is located in Gangwon-do, but it's easily accessible from the Seoul metropolitan area, making it very crowded on weekends. Despite this, the quality of the slopes is generally good. Below is a list of the slopes, all named after music genres.
Blues
This slope is located furthest to the right when looking from the parking lot and is quite isolated from the main slopes. It's a beginner-level slope, the easiest in the ski resort. Since there are no merging slopes from above or connecting slopes from below, only beginners gather here, making it an excellent slope for practice. In the past, there were two lifts here, but since the 2018/19 season, they have been removed and replaced with a moving walkway.
Ballad
This is a beginner slope. The incline is not steep, and the slope itself is reasonably long, but there is a major issue. Several slopes merge into the Ballad from above, including the Reggae, Funky, and Rock slopes. This causes overcrowding on the Ballad slope, which is already very busy. For lessons, Jazz is often preferred, but this can also inconvenience intermediate skiers. Despite these issues, it's not a bad slope for practice.
Jazz
An intermediate slope located to the left of Ballad when viewed from the parking lot. The lift is directly to the left of the Ballad lift. At the top, going left leads to the Jazz slope, while going right leads to the Reggae slope. It is not as crowded as Ballad, but since there is only one lift, the wait can be longer. The slope is steeper than Ballad but manageable. Snowy Land, which was featured in an episode of "Running Man," is located to the right of this slope.
Techno
An advanced slope situated to the right of the Ballad slope. It is steep and not recommended for beginners. Because it's less crowded, skilled skiers often use this slope. The lift here goes all the way to the top, so while the slope itself has fewer people, the lift can be quite busy. At the top, the slope splits into Funky, Hip-Hop, and Techno.
Classic
An intermediate-to-advanced slope accessible by going right from the top. Unlike most slopes, which face the base, this one is angled to the right. It is of intermediate difficulty. At the end, turning left leads to Reggae, while going straight leads to the gentle path known as the "trail" to Jazz.
Funky
An advanced slope, though it feels more like an intermediate-to-advanced level. It is steep and winding, so not suitable for beginners, but fun for more skilled skiers. This slope is often used for a fast descent to the base. However, it is in the shade, so the snow quality is not great.
Hip-Hop
An intermediate-to-advanced slope. It can be accessed from the Techno slope or via a lift. It is not as steep, wide, and not crowded, making it ideal for practice. However, the lift is very slow, which is a drawback.
Reggae
An intermediate-to-advanced slope accessible from the Classic slope by turning left or from the Jazz lift by going right. It is less crowded and offers an exhilarating experience, but like Funky, the snow quality is not great due to its location in the shade.
Rock
An expert slope only for skiers who can handle the Techno slope perfectly. It is very steep. From the top, go straight to reach it. The lift is located at the top of Ballad. Despite being equipped with lights, it only operates during the day and has poor snow quality, often icy in places. It usually opens by late December.
Night skiing is available, but not all slopes are open. The resort is small enough to memorize most slopes in a day. Despite its size, it has everything needed for a good skiing experience, including the Blues slope for beginners, the Jazz slope, and gondolas. The Ballad and Blues slopes have two lifts and moving walkways each, ensuring smooth operations.
- Lifts and Gondolas: The resort boasts modern lift and gondola systems, ensuring quick and convenient access to the slopes. Designed to minimize wait times, these systems allow you to make the most of your skiing or snowboarding experience.
- Rental Services: A rental shop is available where you can rent ski and snowboard equipment. The shop offers the latest gear in various sizes, making it easy for beginners to find suitable equipment.
- Ski School: The resort operates a ski school for beginners and children, with professional instructors providing structured lessons. Both group and private lessons are available, allowing you to learn skiing safely.
- Amenities: Within the resort, you'll find a variety of restaurants, cafes, and lodging options, making it easy to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes. Additionally, there are hot springs and sauna facilities to help you rejuvenate and relieve the day's fatigue. https://www.sonohotelsresorts.com/belle_vp/entertainment
